Utilizing technology is has its advantages in recruitment. However, mobile recruiting is especially good for lower ranked personnel - if texting is involved that is. For executives, it'd be better if it were phone calls to show a bit more respect and importance. Not that lower ranked staff are not respected, definitely not - it's just that this group is a bit more carefree. As for executives, phone calls should accompany emails or what have you.

Video calls would be okay for screening out, this would lessen the costs both for the employer and candidates. Yet, when one is shortlisted and if possible, the candidate should appear in person. Otherwise, video calls would suffice - it's all a matter of how you treat it.
